    Jewelry Repairs

We are proud to continue offer these hard-to-find services. Our clock repairmen have over 30 years experience--and they make house calls!  Many minor clock and watch repairs can be done in the store.  However, more complicated repairs can be sent to our qualified repair house in Philadelphia.

TIPS FOR JEWELRY CARE AND PEARLS
Cultured pearls should be worn and enjoyed but they deserve respectful care. Hair sprays and perfumes are natural enemies of pearls and can cause damage to their surface. Wipe off your pearls after you wear them with a soft cloth and store them away separately from diamond or gold jewelry that could scratch them. Pearls should be checked at least once a year to determine if they need to be re-strung. Pearl cord does stretch!

    TIPS FOR JEWELRY
Avoid letting your rings "grow" onto your fingers! Remove rings before going to bed to allow for increased circulation in your hands and fingers. Store your rings in a safe place - never just thrown into a jewelry box. Because diamonds are "hard" stones, they will scratch gold, gem stones and even other diamonds! Store each piece of jewelry separately. IF you have to struggle to get your rings off and on, YES, your ring can - AND SHOULD! - be sized.

    TIPS FOR JEWELRY CARE
Clean your jewelry regularly. Soaps. lotions and even natural skin oils will put a film on diamonds and other jewelry. Diamonds sparkle because light reflects into the stone and "bounces" back out. Make your own cleaning solution of 1/2 cold water and 1/2 household ammonia. Soak your diamonds in this solution for about one half hour. Then brush gently with an old toothbrush to remove dirt build-up. Swish through the solution again and pat with a soft cloth (like an old undershirt) to dry.
